New Retiree Health Program Coming in 2026
In 2026, GNJ’s retiree health program will switch from a “one size fits all” plan to a program that allows each retiree and covered spouse to select the plan that best meets their needs, funded by an HRA Contribution from the conference. If an individual does not use the full contribution during the year, the balance will continue to roll over into savings for future needs. We will partner with Via Benefits, the first and largest Medicare marketplace, who employ non-commissioned Benefit Advisors to assist each individual in selecting the plan that best meets their specific needs.” Numerous United Methodist annual conferences have already chosen Via Benefits, in partnership with Wespath, for their retiree health programs.
Please join staff from GNJAC and Wespath on April 2, 2025, at 3:00pm for an Informational Session to hear more details and get your questions answered. Please use the zoom link below.
This program benefits both GNJAC and our retirees:
Retirees:
- Decide how to spend their HRA money and select plans that best meet their financial and health care needs.
- Reduce their costs by choosing the best financial plan option.
- Receive trusted guidance from non-commissioned advisors, becoming informed consumers.
- Benefit from broad risk pools, competition among carriers, and effective use of federal subsidies.
GNJAC:
- Benefit from reduced liability and cost.
- Reduced responsibility of managing and administering plans.
- Reduced balance sheet volatility and predictable benefit cost.
