Pinelands Center
Pinelands Center at Mt Misery, a camp & retreat center of the Greater New Jersey Conference of the United Methodist Church, lies on nearly 150 acres of forest in the coastal plains of southern, New Jersey. Nestled in the middle of the historic National Pinelands Reserve, Pinelands Center is surrounded on most sides by cranberry bogs and preserved forestland, including miles of trails in Brendan T. Byrne State Park. We are blessed to play in and learn from Mt Misery Lake, a stream and spring-fed lake and wetland filled with the famously rare plants and animals of the Pine Barrens. Located directly off Route 70, an hour from Philadelphia and less than an hour from the Shore, Pinelands Center is a place set apart—but not too far apart!—by God.
At Pinelands Center, all of our programs will give campers the opportunity to participate in a variety of age-appropriate camp activities. All of our campers, with the exception of our Outpost campers, stay in cabins with bathrooms and showers located inside the building. Outpost campers stay in rustic cabins just a short walk from main camp and have access to bathroom and shower facilities within walking distance.
With our Christian faith as the center of our mission, all programs are designed to foster both personal spiritual growth and self-esteem through Bible Studies, formal and informal worship, and the nurturing of a welcoming and inclusive community. Every week culminates in a Friday night chapel with worship and communion, presided over by one of the many United Methodist Pastors who we call family.
We are excited to serve your campers and look forward to sharing in their laughter, adventures, and growth this summer!
