Professional ethics training required of all clergy, lay pastors

March 18, 2024 |

GNJ wants all clergy and all lay pastors to be sure take the new, mandatory online professional ethics training courses, as required by the 2023 Annual Conference. “As pastoral and ministry leaders, we are committed to principled and ethical leadership,” wrote Bishop John Schol in a letter last week.

The goal is to achieve 100% completion of the three-part training in the coming months. A manageable timetable is suggested to help ministers complete the trainings by the end of the conference year:

  • Sexual Ethics Due April 15, 2024 (approximately 5 hours to complete)
  • Safe Sanctuaries Due May 15, 2024 (approximately1 hour to complete)
  • Financial Ethics Due June 30, 2024 (approximately 5 hours to complete)

And upload certificates of completion to Arena, using the instructions found here: https://www.gnjumc.org/professional-ethics/arena-upload-instructions/
