Message from Bishop Schol | Prayers Sought (Puerto Rico and Rosa Williams)

January 17, 2020 | GNJ News, Messages from the Bishop

Good Christian Friends,

As United Methodists, when one hurts, we all hurt and when anyone hurts, United Methodists help. Today I ask you to keep Rosa Williams, our conference lay leader, and Puerto Rico in your hearts and prayers. Rosa’s husband, Hewitt Williams died suddenly on January 9, 2020. We ask that you keep Rosa and the Williams family in your prayers.  Services will be held:

Friday, January 17
11:00 a.m.
Galilee United Methodist Church
325 Genesee Avene
Englewood, NJ 07631

I also invite you to keep Puerto Rico in your prayers and especially our sisters and brothers of the Methodist Church of Puerto Rico. The recent earthquake and aftershocks have devastated the island. Reports are slow in coming forth but there is wide spread destruction and power outage. We have a close and unique partnership with our brother and sisters of the church in Puerto Rico through are our Miracles Everywhere campaign. You have been generous and faithful and I invite your congregation to take a special offering for Puerto Rico and send it to the GNJ office for this emergency relief effort.

Thank you.

John
