Essential Actions and Updates for Jan 19

January 19, 2021 | COVID-19, Essential Actions

Dear Leaders of GNJ and our congregations,

The following are essential actions and information for this week.

1. Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Opened for All Monday – Pastors, Treasurers and Finance Chairperson
The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 includes $284 billion for a second round of PPP loans for which churches are eligible to apply through participating banks. The PPP portal is now open for all groups following a staggered opening that started on Jan. 11. Please know that unlike the last round, the SBA wants to see proof of financial struggles. Specifically, you will need to have experienced at least a 25% reduction in revenue in at least one quarter between 2019 and 2020. We encourage our churches to act quickly to take advantage of this additional funding and reach out to GNJ if you need help like finding an alternate bank. For further information on how to apply and for details on this new funding, visit here.

2. Special Annual Conference Session – All Clergy and Lay Members to the Annual Conference
The Special Annual Conference Session is this Friday, Jan. 22 at 4:00 p.m. The two-hour virtual session is being hosted over Zoom to review a shared billing plan and adopt any necessary budget changes. The 13-page financial report, FAQs, a recording of the evening session on Jan. 12 and a Participants’ Guide are available here.

3. Year-End Statistical Reports – Pastors, Treasurers and Finance Chairperson
Sunday, Jan. 31 is the last day when all pastors of local churches can submit a year-end statistical report. Everything you need, including a PowerPoint presentation and a recorded Zoom session can be found here. To complete your report, log into http://ezra.gcfa.org, using username: 3360_ _ _ _ (4-Digit Church Number) and password: gnjchurch20.

In Christ,

GNJ Leadership
