Director of Music Ministries
Purpose
Lead people of all ages in the congregation with music to compliment the pastor’s message enhancing the worship experience to cultivate disciples for Jesus Christ.
Job Information
Classification: Part time
Supervisor: Pastor – weekly meeting
Work Schedule: Weekly – Sunday morning worship; praise team rehearsal, special services (such as Holy Week and Christmas Eve) and other times as required.
Workweek: Praise team rehearsals, staff meetings and other times as required. Average 8-10 hours/week. Available when possible for funerals, weddings; additional compensation provided.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Requirements: Minimum of 2 years experience; music degree is preferred
Responsibility
- Ability to proficiently play piano; ability to play organ a plus
- Direct, coordinate and lead praise team
- Timely and effective communication to worship team members
- Assist in the planning and implementation of worship service music
- Assist in developing and leading additional music teams (bell choir, Christmas choir, children’s choir) for special occasions
- Strong musical skills for blended worship (contemporary/traditional blend)
- Effective leadership and team building abilities
- Highly relational and encouraging to others
- Passion for seeing transformation in the lives of congregation and the people of Delran through music ministry
- Open to collaborating with musically talented members of congregation
