Today, the legislative committee of the 2019 Special General Conference voted to move the following petitions to the plenary session tomorrow, Tuesday February 26, 2019:

  • Wespath Recommendations – Pension and Liabilities and CRS
  • Traditional Plan with amendments
  • Two disaffiliation petitions

A request was referred to the Judicial Council for declaratory decisions about the constitutionality of the Traditional Plan and all petitions approved in the legislative session.

On Tuesday, the body will enter the plenary session to discern, debate, amend and vote on these petitions. In addition, other plans, including the One Church plan, could be reintroduced as a part of the minority report.

GNJ delegates, Tom Lank and Eunice Vega-Perez spoke passionately from the floor in today’s discussions and debates.

The session begins again at 8:00 a.m. central time and can be live streamed here. Our delegates, reserve delegates, Bishop Schol and all United Methodists representing GNJ here in St. Louis continue to need and feel your prayers.
