Help the Hungry and Enjoy Family Fun at June 11 Musicfest of Praise in Piscataway

April 12, 2016 |

The fourth annual Musicfest of Praise will feature three contemporary Christian bands, a comedian and an array of children’s activities while providing concertgoers with an opportunity to help the hungry.

The event will take place on the front lawn of Christ United Methodist Church in Piscataway on June 11 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The church, located at 485 Hoes Lane in Piscataway, hosts Musicfest of Praise as a means to serve the community by gathering and sharing food with the needy. Admission to the event is free with the donation of nonperishable food items. Food donations during the 2015 concert totaled more than 2,000 pounds.

Relinquish, a Virginia-based band that has performed extensively on the East Coast, will make its second Musicfest of Praise appearance. Opening for Relinquish will be Stonecrest Worship of Stonecrest Community Church in Warren and Messiah’s Quest, the Christ United Methodist Church praise band.

Comedian Mike Cordry will entertain between band performances. Activities for children will include games, building crafts, hair braiding and face and nail painting. There also will be ministry information areas.

Snacks and beverages will be available for sale. The event also will include drawings for prizes donated by local businesses.
