Hopewell United Methodist Church (HUMC), located in Hopewell, NJ, is a vibrant, multicultural,

serve, and love people from all walks of life. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Church
Administrative Associate to join our community. Candidates should have an administrative or
management background and be able to communicate effectively.

Job Brief: We are looking for a responsible Administrative Associate to perform a variety of
administrative and clerical tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of our congregation and
facilitate effective communication among staff, volunteers, and members. Duties of the
Administrative Associate include but are not limited to office and data management, administrative,
visitor, and member support, events coordination, and financial support. This is a part-time
position, approximately 15 hours per week with a negotiable rate of $20 per hour.

• Maintain the church office and ensure it operates efficiently
• Generate e-Bulletins for each weekly service and special services
• Mail out the Pastor’s weekly e-newsletter
• Create & maintain a monthly calendar
• Create the newsletter at least quarterly or as often as requested by the Pastor
• Assist in planning and coordinating church events, meetings, and activities with church members
and staff
• Process payments, track expenses, and handle donations
• Maintain and update church databases (attendance and contact information)
• Provide administrative support to the pastor, staff, and various ministry teams.

Requirement and Skills
• Proven experience as an Administrative Associate, Excellent time management skills, and the
ability to prioritize work
• Working knowledge of office equipment
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs)
• Knowledge of Databases and online communication
• Attention to details
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A friendly, warm personality and team-oriented
• High school degree. Additional qualifications as an administrative associate will be a plus.
