Job Description:
The 20hr/wk Part-Time Administrator at St. John’s UMC oversees administrative operations and supports church leadership. This role serves as a key link among the Senior Pastor, ministerial staff, church leaders, and members to help ensure facilities are used effectively, programs run smoothly, and office staff work together efficiently.

- Ability to balance a wide range of responsibilities and staff needs.
Activities/Responsibilities:
- Preparing Sunday bulletins
- Scheduling calendar and church events
- Maintaining and updating records for all church members
- Scheduling building usage for meetings, functions, rentals, repair work, weddings , etc.
- Maintaining accurate membership lists for all church committees
- Ordering supplies for Sunday Coffee Hour
- All correspondence regarding new members, visitors, baptisms, envelopes, etc.
- Preparing monthly Church Newsletter
- Typing and Distributing Charge Conference Reports
- Assisting in church sponsored programs and special events
- Handling related building use and property concerns with Board of Trustees and Senior Pastor (contact contractors as needed and scheduling maintenance)
- Assisting the staff and volunteers with any needs and directing volunteers where needed
- Coordinate events for the Conference (ie: set up, catering, enlisting volunteers)
- Assisting Nursery School Director and parents
- Ordering all office supplies, communion elements, candles and any other items needed for worship services
- Ordering flowers/plants for Sunday services and for Christmas /Easter
- Attending various meetings as required
- Providing access to all areas of the church when needed
- Handling mailing and postal affairs
- Ensuring office equipment is maintained in operational order
Compensation:
- Annual salary commensurate with experience and training.
- Two weeks’ vacation per year, one-week sick leave. Scheduled leave is not to include major church holidays, Lent, Easter & Christmas.
