Effective January 1, 2026, The Board of Pension and Health Benefits will discontinue Delta Dental coverage

Dear Delta Dental Participant,

We are writing to inform you of an important update regarding your dental benefits.

With the Conference Board of Pensions’ move to transition the Retiree population to Via Benefits, the retirees will now have the option to select dental plans through the Via Benefits Exchange. As a result, the active clergy/laity group will become smaller, and Delta Dental will not maintain an active policy once most of the population exits. Therefore, the Board of Pension and Health Benefits has decided to discontinue Delta Dental coverage effective January 1, 2026

We recognize that changes to your benefits may prompt questions, and we want to assure you that we are here to assist you through this transition. We encourage you to explore plans available through healthcare.gov or GetCoveredNJ, as the Marketplace offers various plans and carrier options for you to choose from. Note, this is for active clergy/lay participants only; again, retirees will select dental coverage through Via Benefits.

If you are currently undergoing any dental treatment, we recommend discussing these changes with your dentist to ensure a smooth transition and to make any necessary arrangements.

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, please do not hesitate to reach out to a member of the Benefits Team:

Alexa Taylor                                                          Tahnesia Gayle

We appreciate your understanding and continued support during this transition.

Grace and peace,

Rev. Elouise Hill-Challenger
