Supervisor: Director of Connectional Ministries

Position Summary and Objective
The Executive Assistant to the Director of Connectional Ministries (DCM) resources the DCM to achieve the GNJ mission and strategic ministry goals. The Executive Assistant also oversees the administrative services for the Connectional Ministries Team (CMT) to ensure that activities within the team are completed on time, accurately and with excellence.

As a result of this position, the following will occur

  • Transformational Leaders are being recruited and equipped for the GNJ mission
  • The work and projects are completed on time, accurately and with excellence
  • A smooth workflow and coordination of tasks within the CMT administrative support team
  • Team members’ administrative expectations are negotiated and met on time, accurately and with excellence
  • The team has a 90% or better service rating by clergy and lay leadership
  • Agencies and departments associated with the team are resourced appropriately

Key Accountabilities

  1. Resource and provide administrative support to the Director of Connectional Ministries including, but not limited to:
    • manage calendar
    • schedule meeting/conference calls, notifications & location
    • schedule & coordinate travel
    • process mail and ensure appropriate response when needed
    • attend meetings and take minutes as needed
    • prepare correspondence and reports as needed
    • Organize and maintain electronic and paper files systematically and accurately
    • other general office duties as needed
  2. Plan, and oversee the organizational, communication, administrative, and programmatic operations of the Connectional Ministries team so that the office is organized to carry out the functions, priorities and mission of the team
  3. Supervise CMT administrative support staff so that work is done with excellence and they grow in their skills
  4. Coordinate and manage interdepartmental work between the CMT and other teams
  5. Serve as the project manager of teams assigned so projects are coordinated and completed on time and with excellence
  6. Anticipate, identify and take initiative to complete the communication, administrative work and reports to resource the team so that they are well resourced and prepared for activities, meetings and events and further GNJ mission

  • A strong planner, communicator and supervisor

Bachelor’s degree or related experience
Project Management Certificate or related experience – preferred


  • Five or more years in executive administrative support, office management and supervision
  • Working with a variety of cultures

The position requires some evening and weekend responsibilities and some travel within the Greater New Jersey Region. The Executive Assistant to the Director of Connectional Ministries works from the GNJ offices located in Neptune NJ.
