Greetings! We are celebrating the life and legacy of the Aldersgate Camp Property on Saturday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m. All are invited to join us as we celebrate this amazing place that has meant so much for so many.

Many GNJ clergy and laity leaders found their calling at summer camps. Their tradition in Greater New Jersey started in the 1960s with the introduction of a summer campground in the small Sussex County town called Swartswood, on Sprout Hill Road known as Aldersgate, which now holds years of memories for United Methodists who soaked up all that the camp had to offer.

Although the camp closed in 2013 and the difficult decision was made in 2020 to sell the property, the plan is to gather and embrace those traditions on November 27.

Light refreshments will be served. There will be a work day/clean up at the property on Friday, November 26 at 1:00 p.m. If you’d like to come early on 11/27 to wander the grounds, the property will be opened at 12:30 p.m. More details, including registration, and to make dinner plans, can be found here.
