Inspire, energize and motivate local congregations through high quality resourcing

Church Conferences, sometimes called Charge Conferences are annual meetings with church leaders and their district superintendent or elder to review the business and mission of the local church. Each conference will review the previous year of ministry, complete essential church business and affirm goals for the coming year.

In GNJ, we foster collaboration by holding conferences in regional groups to push us beyond our own boundaries to make disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. These pages provide you with the resources you need to complete your paperwork deadlines and schedule your congregation to join in a day of inspiration and resourcing.

Church Conference Paperwork

Completing the church paperwork and submitting it on time is a precursor to a fruitful church conference. Starting early will make the task easier. It is the pastor’s responsibility to ensure all church conference paperwork is completed properly and submitted by the deadline.

Church Conference Reports Print List

Below are the reports that you are to print and bring to the church conference. Please print enough copies for all participants from your church as well as an additional copy of these reports for your presiding elder.

  1. Previous Church Conference Minutes/Special Charge Conference Minutes
  2. Nominations Report
  3. Report of the Pastor
  4. Clergy Compensation Report/Housing Exclusion Resolution
  5. Trustees Report
  6. Fund Balance Report

Paperwork Deadlines - Updated 9/6/18

The success of church conferences are largely based on the church reports submitted in advance which are reviewed and approved during the conference. All churches must submit these reports in advance according to the deadlines set by District Superintendents. The deadlines vary by district and are based on the scheduled church conference. Click here to review schedules and deadlines by districts.

If you have questions about completing your reports, please contact the Regional Administrator for your district well in advance of your deadline.

New & Improved!

Based on your feedback, we’ve added more detailed explanations and instructions to improve overall user experience. These changes are especially noticeable in the resources listed below.

Arena Access

The Arena database houses many of the church conference reports. Different leadership roles will receive different logins because each role has access to different information. It is important that you do not share your login with others.

To access Arena, please use this link: Your leadership role determines the type of login you will use. If you are receiving a new login, please expect to receive this email on July 2, 2018. Please check your spam and junk folders for this email if you do not see it.

  • The church will receive a new login in 2018.
The church login will be emailed to the following people: the senior pastor, church council chair, trustee president, lay leader, and the church email address. This login will give the church access to complete the following reports:

    • Directory of Officials
    • Report of the Trustees
    • Parsonage Evaluation
    • Congregational Appraisal.
  • Each SPRC chair will receive a new login in 2018.
This unique username and password will be emailed directly to the SPRC chair. The SPRC login is different from the church’s login and will be used solely to complete the Church Profile/Advisory for Appointment Making Report.   SPRC chairs will no longer need a separate link as they have in the past.
  • Pastors, Lay Servants/Speakers, and Certified Lay Ministers use the logins they used last year.
If you have forgotten your login, please select Forgot Login ID/Password and follow the prompts to reset your password.
