Saturday, October 22, 2011 was the annual Multi Cultural Celebration coordinated by the Multi Ethnic Coordinating Team and hosted by St. John's UMC in Hazlet. A volunteer hosting site for Sandy recovery teams opened in Highlands, NJ on July 15, 2013. Hundreds of volunteers renovated the former Highlands United Methodist Church building which was flooded in the storm.
