Greater New Jersey Volunteers Needed for Next Stage of Sandy Recovery

Volunteers are needed from within the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference (GNJAC) to move on to the next stage of Sandy recovery. Starting in April, volunteers from across the United States will begin to come to help New Jersey residents rebuild from Superstorm Sandy, the second most devastating storm in US history as part of the GNJ long-term recovery ministry. Volunteers are the backbone of United Methodist relief and long term recovery ministry.

Task Force on Conference Office Presents Findings

In June of 2011, the Annual Conference empowered a task force to study the present conference center and assess present conditions, costs and repairs as well as our present and future needs. The task force has reviewed the property using engineers and contractors and has determined that our present building is not worth further investments.

All Clergy Gathering Features Expert on "Spiritual But Not Religious"

At St. John’s UMC in Hazlet, nearly 400 clergy from around the conference gathered for worship, fellowship, and conversation with the Rev. Dr. Lillian Daniel, a pastor in the United Church of Christ and author of “When Spiritual But Not Religious Is Not Enough: Seeing God in Surprising Places, Even the Church.” All clergy received a free copy of her book, and there was even a CBS television crew on hand to film Rev.
